Featurebase: https://cardeio.featurebase.app/p/player-not-adding-to-tournament-at-specific-store
Submitted by Hobby Lords Hamilton (hamilton@hobbylords.co.nz) on 2026-05-29. They report that player Jandre.oberholzer@gmail.com can participate in Nexus Nights at other stores, but cannot join matches at Hobby Lords Hamilton.
Problem
A retailer may be blocked from adding/registering a known player for Nexus Nights at one specific store while the same player can participate elsewhere. If confirmed, this leaves the organizer without a self-serve way to run the tournament accurately and suggests a store/event-specific registration, eligibility, or player-state issue.
Evidence
- One Featurebase report from the affected retailer.
- Specific store and player email are provided.
- Missing details: event link/ID, exact workflow, error copy, screenshot, player/event state, and whether this is player self-registration, check-in, joining a match, or organizer manual add.
Duplicate / adjacent review
Adjacent but not exact:
SENG-285— unmatched player cannot be viewed/resolved from event admin.HYD2-7475— QR registration does not populate the Players tab.HYD2-7340/HYD2-6945— late-added player repair/pairing paths.
None clearly cover a specific player being unable to join at one store while working at other stores.
Needs details before Backlog acceptance
- Event link or event ID for the affected Hobby Lords Hamilton Nexus Nights event.
- Whether the player is trying to self-register, check in, be manually added by the organizer, or join/be paired into a match.
- Exact error text or UI state and a screenshot if available.
- Whether the player appears as registered, waitlisted, dropped, banned/blocked, unmatched, or absent from the Players tab.
- Browser/device and whether the same action fails for another staff account.
90/10 outcome
When an organizer/player attempts to join a valid store event, the player is added successfully, or the UI shows a specific actionable reason why that player is blocked for that store/event.
